Fabulous recipe!! The lemon, basil and sour cream (I used Greek yogurt since I didn't have sour cream in the frig were ingredients that I'd never used before for chicken salad and they added sooooo much to the flavor! I had chicken that I had used for homemade chicken broth and this was the perfect recipe to use up some of it!!

By far the BEST chicken salad i've ever had!! Only thing I changed was to add a quarter cup of diced red onion. Did not last long in my house at all and my 1 yr old son even gobbled it up!

I have NEVER liked chicken salad, but I ate so much of this I made myself sick! Recently I prepared this for our pastor and staff and it was AMAZING! Some of the compliments ranged from yummy...to best chicken salad I have ever eaten! Make sure you use FRESH basil and not dried. Also, I used several rotisserie chickens which added to the flavor even more. I served this with Paula Deen's Strawberry Spinach Heart of Palm Salad and it was a knockout!

Fresh and lovely, except I used an over-stewed chicken and the final product had a finer consistency, sort-of like tuna salad. So, I'm just going to put a plop of it between two slices of seven-grain bread (I'm going to use my ice cream scoop, top it with a slice of brie or havarti and grill that baby 'till it's crunchy and golden brown. Yummmm.

Make this for visiting family last evening and what a hit. In fact we're making another batch this evening. I have just begun raising my own herbs. I'm convinced that what made it so incredible was th fresh basil. Thanks for another great one, Paula. I'll make this often.

I made this salad for a big luncheon at church and it was a big hit with everyone. I recommend it highly and encourage anyone to give it a try. I am going to play around with trying to reduce the mayo content. Just a personal preference. A combo of sour cream and plain yogurt may do the trick. Enjoy!

I have been making this recipe for years...minus the basil. My kids love it. It's great for a carb-free type one diabetes day when you are checking your basal rates. Next time I make it I'll try adding the basil. I'm sure that it will be great.
