I made this today for lunch. It was excellent and I'd definitely make it again. I used individually pkgd. chicken breasts and found that it takes about five to make four cups of cooked chicken. I didn't have almonds, but did have walnuts and they worked out fine. (Almost any nut would be good. We have basil growing in our yard and it took one large stem of leaves for the 1/4 cup. The 1 1/2 tsps. lemon juice is about 1/2 of a large lemon. My husband and I agreed--this recipe is a keeper.

I'd never made chicken salad with sour cream, but it was very good. I will add some chopped red grapes for extra flavor next time.

I actually followed the recipe to the T (which is uncharacteristic of me, and it was absolutely perfect! The basil made it over the top- one of the best chicken salads I've had. I love you Paula-you're awesome!!!!

I wasn't quite sure about the lemon and the basil....and my picky husband was pretty doubtful... BUT it was delicious! It has now become my NEW way of making Chicken salad!

I actually said, "WOW" after trying this - and the flavors didn't even "marry" yet! What a great tasting chicken salad - not fancy, but definitely not the typical mayo-and-celery-chicken salad!

Nice texture and bright, fresh taste. A good way to use fresh basil from the garden. The dressing is flavorful and everything is well balanced. Love the almonds!

This is such a great recipe. I made it with fat free sour cream and reduced fat mayo. It was delicious. Paula- you never let us down!!

This reciepe is perfect for summer fun. I added a box of rotini noodles and some more of the sauce/juice. I cooked the chicken and made sure to season it good, I actually used my chopper and made the pieces smaller. It made the best 4th of July salad to share, and everyone LOVED IT!
I would for sure use the juice from a real lemon and for sure use the almonds.
Someone did say to add little tomatos if you like those as well.
    YOU GO PAULA!!!

One of these reviews said Paula didn't use lemon on the show, but I just watched it and she certainly did...Maybe the reviewer missed it because the execution of the recipe was a little choppy as Paula was interacting with her guest, who was also cooking. By the way, the salad IS excellent!
