    This bananas foster french toast tasted really fantastic! The french toast made out of the crescent rolls were especially delicious. Made this for supper though and had the whole family in a bit of a sugar coma too close to bedtime. Will definitely make this again but try it for breakfast next time.

    I have been looking for a recipe like this for a long time. I used the bananas foster topping for waffles and it was excellent. I added two things - 3 Tbs. of butter and about 2 Tbs. of rum because I did not have rum extract. I think the butter cut the sweetness a little because I did not find it too sweet at all. I own a B&B and will use this recipe often. Thanks, Pauls.

    We all loved this recipe for a very rich and tasty brunch. It is sweet but that is what syrup is! Someone mentioned a side of sausage and I agree that some meat would be nice to take away from some of the sweet (not that I don't like sweet!. Due to pecan allergy I used sliced almonds and they were great. I see this on my Christmas brunch table.

    My favorite dessert in the whole world is bananas foster, so when I saw this recipe on the website I knew I had to try it. I couldn't find croissants so I had to use a cinnamon swirl bread from the bakery (I just didn't add the cinnamon to the egg mixture and it came out fantastic. My kids don't like cooked bananas, so I just didn't serve them the fruit, but they still loved the flavor of the syrup. Personally I didn't find it any sweeter then regular syrup. This definitely isn't a light calorie fare, but it's a fabulous splurge. One quick tip, rinse your pan after cooking each batch of French toast or else the butter will burn in between. Also, I found that I had to cook it on a much lower temp. then Medium-High or else the outside cooked too fast and you got a soggy middle.

    I saw this on one of the episodes I have on my TiVo. My fiance does not like bananas so I found some nicely ripe apricots at our grocery store and used them instead. WOW! This was so delicious! I was worried it would be very sweet and it really wasn't. I don't know if the apricots acidity had something to do with it or what but it was perfect. I served the French Toast for dinner with pork sausage on the side. YUMMY! A great treat!

    The only change to this recipe that I made was to use thick slices of Italian bread. It was excellent and everyone enjoyed it.

    The french toast part came out great! However, the syrup was WAY too sweet!! I have made my own banana syrup topping for pancakes in the past and will use my own recipe next time.
