I cooked this while talking with my husband on Skype. I had never cooked filet mignon before, and never considered combining berries with beef before. It was very easy. I bought a good cabernet sauvignon to use in the recipe and to drink with dinner. I forgot to buy fresh blackberries, so I just put a dollop of butter on top at the end. It was heavenly!

Excellent! Easy to prepare. Restaurant quality recipe. Mix your butter and blackberries first so it has time to harden in the refrigerator while making the rest.
You may think after adding beef broth that it will never thicken but it will and, once it starts, it will thicken quickly.

I used this recipe substituting Elk New York Steak, and it turned out incredible, The blackberries brought out the sweetness in the Elk, My 16 y o son took one bite and it closed his eyes so was a keeper,

Best steak I have ever had! My husband is not a big fan of steak, but he absolutely loved this recipe. The combination between the salty of the steak and sweet sauce is a melody in one's mouth. Be advised that it takes more than 20 minutes to finish the cooking process, it was more like 45 minutes. Highly recommend it, I have e-mailed it out to all of my girlfriends. MUST TRY!!

Filet and berries...who would have thought these two ingredients would be a marriage made in heaven!! I enjoy cooking and trying different things. Since it is berry season I thought why not It. You have to try this!! This is really a winner!!

Made this for dinner twice last weekend! I wanted to make my husband a special dinner after we put the kids to bed on Friday. I had ribeyes on hand so I used those but it still turned out great. My husband was very hesitant about the fruit/steak combo but couldn't stop eating it! His exact words were, "I want to hate it, but I can't!" He even said it was the best steak he had in a long time. We liked it so much that I made it again Sunday night. Thanks Deen family!!!!!
