Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley leaves
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • House Seasoning, recipe follows
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked
  • 3 hamburger buns
  • 3 English muffins
  • 6 glazed donuts

Directions

Mix the ground beef, chopped parsley and grated onion together in a large mixing bowl. Season liberally, with House Seasoning. Form 3 hamburger patties.

Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Add the burgers and cook until desired temperature, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.

Fry bacon in a hot pan until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels. Set aside.

While burgers are cooking, heat a non-stick pan, over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons butter. Crack 3 eggs into the pan. Cook until the yolks are just set and still slightly runny and remove.

Place burger patties on English muffins or buns, and if desired, on glazed donuts, as the buns. Top each burger with 2 pieces of bacon and a fried egg.

House Seasoning:

  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder

Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

Jim Gaffigan's Joke Came to Life!

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I don't know if anyone has heard of Jim Gaffigan's "donut ham hamburger" but this is pretty much what he was going for! I... enjoyed it, it was tasty - I love mixing salty/savory and sweet - especially with breakfast foods. My husband is a bit more of a junk food junkie than I am and LOVED IT! It's sad, however, that some people think that eating this kind of burger instantly makes you obese - everything is fine in moderation. And Paula has never given any false pretenses creating herself as a health food expert! If you want healthier options, maybe you should watch Ellie Krieger? She has some great recipes as well. Lest we say, this burger isn't for the faint of heart (or those on the verge of heart problems.) So let's say we reserve this review for those who actually have made this? Personally, I'm a very healthy person and don't generally eat meat or even processed foods - but I certainly don't bash people just because they choose to or make their living creating decadent dishes for those who want them:) Read more

DONT JUDGE IF NOT BY TASTE!

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
Did i try this uhh...burger...no Do i want to try it...no...not rlly but the fact of the matter is people should not be... rating and judging a recipe because they THINK it will taste gross or because of it is obviously unhealthy if you actually made it and ate it then rate it what you feel like...but this is not the place to start a campaign against fattening foods do you also stand outside mcdonald's and boycott their mcgriddle? which is almost the same thing do you chastise people who eat donuts for breakfast and then a burger sometime later in the day? guess what calories add up so people who are stuffing your faces with cookies, fries, sodas, candies, fatty meat...your caloric intake is probably comparable to paula's...at least she is not sitting on her high horse like you areRead more

The burger sounded great, but the donut... I tried it,but the donut is not my cup of tea, english muffin worked better.... Paula, your GREAT and your dishes are wonderful, but sometimes your trip and fall. Now to all the nasty remarks about "Trailer Trash". Making a statment like that is just crude.Read more

    Recipe Review or Paula Review?

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is supposed to be a place to review a recipe that you found appealing enough to try. If you find the recipe offensive is... some way then don't try it. No one is asking for your opinion on whether or not the recipe is healthy or what you think personally of Paula. Come on, Food Network, maybe it's time to monitor these forums for appropriate comments and reviews. It's not fair to give a recipe a low rating just because you don't like the looks of it.Read more
