These things were overly puffy, tasteless, misshapen messes. The icing tasted like nothing but "sweet"... and I wasted perfectly good chocolate chips I could have used for some other cookies. I think your best bet is to look up a sugar cookie recipe and create a different black and white icing. I usually love Paula's recipes, but this one was not worth cleaning the dishes for.

These things were puffy, misshapen messes. the frosting just tasted like powdered sugar and water... even the chocolate side! The cookies had no real flavor either. It may be better to look up a sugar cookie recipe and cover those with another version of black and white icing. I usually LOVE Paula's desserts, but this was not her best work...

Have tried several of Paula's recipes and had trouble with them all. Love to watch her but her recipes just don't seem to work out well. This one cookies never spread out and you can't add water to chocolate it ceases up. Thinned the chocolate with a little butter instead.
Cookies on the dry side also.

This cookies are delicious. I made mine much smaller than Paula did on the show, using my standard cookie scoop, and baked them for 13 minutes and they were perfect. By the end, the batter was a little flat and maybe next time I'll make two half batches but still very moist and not overly sweet. The chocolate icing could have a little more chocolate flavor, but on the whole an awesome cookie! I will make these many more times.

These looked delicious on television but didn't quite turn out for me. They're very cake-like and a bit dry. I also had trouble with the chocolate frosting. It makes more sense to dip the cookies in just melted chocolate rather than combine with the sugar mixture and cause the chocolate to clump and become hard to spread. I also found the white frosting very drippy.

I found the cookies dry. I tried to cook them less but the next day they were still dry. Icing was hard to work with but I just added a little more sugar.
