My husband had just gotten back from a barbecue event in Alabama and couldn't stop raving about the stuff he had. I had to prove I could do it just as well. Thanks to this awesome recipe, I didn't have to eat my words but I got to eat and serve some of the best ribs ever!! I followed the recipe to the letter. Used the same rub on some pork butt and it was awesome, as well. I might add more of a spicy kick to the sauce but other than that, even my husband said it was as good as the stuff he had had in Alabama.

The ribs turned out tender. The dry rub needs something with a little pop like Chili or Cajun power and less paprika. The BBQ sause recipe taste like ketchup, however if you double all the ingredients except for the ketchup and water it will turn out good.

never did ribs before, but this recipe sure made it easy. perfection for the timing and tenderness of the ribs. The sauce is the best bbq sauce I ever had, but i did modify it slightly with a bit more spice in the rub/seasoning and using honey instead of corn syrup. Still I believe it was the method of the slow cooking for the sauce that made it sooo good.

Great sauce! I added some diced chipotle in adobo sauce and used agave nectar instead of light corn syrup.Yummmmmm! The longer you let it simmer, the better.

This was a very good recipe that produced a good final product but i did change the sauce recipe. I found it was lacking salt so i added a little to my taste. I also added a few tbls of molasses and liquid smoke. My family devoured all 3 racks. Great job Neelys. Keep the great recipes coming.
