Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

  • 2 bags cookies (recommended: Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies)
  • 6 to 8 bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Its Not Yo Mama'a Banana Pudding Ice Cream Its Better

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Banana Pudding must be an American staple After reading the nearly 2000 revues for the Pudding recipe I HAD to make it As we... don't get Pepperidge Farm cookies in Sydney Australia I used a good melt in your mouth shortbread biscuit (cookie) Also no Frozen Whipped Topping -so I used freshly made whipped cream All I can say is WOW Can one have too much of a good thing I ate so much I nearly burst BUT I couldn't stop eating YUM YUM YUM NOW I will try it with ICE CREAM RICHARD I think you are meant to make the Banana Pudding first, allow it to set, then add EITHER softened Shop OR Homemade Ice Cream, & mix it in THEN REFREEZE the whoe concoction, adding extra ingredients if you want to What I am going to do is soften Shop bought ice cream and MIX it into the Banana Pudding then refreeze & when firm enough I will scoop it out into serving size OR maybe onto an Ice cream cone Good Luck from Down UnderRead more

    How do you make this?

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
Ok, I am missing something and being new to this, not sure how to prepare this. Do you make the pudding and put ice cream on... top? Do you make pudding and the put it into "partially" melted ice cream? Do you make "homemade" ice cream and add the pudding ingredients to ice cream? if so, when? It states "It's Not Your Mamma's Banana Pudding Ice-Cream" and the ingredients are "vanilla ice cream" and "It's Not Your Mamma's Banana Pudding", but how do you "mix" it? It doesn't specify in directions......guess I'm stupid and cheap, 'cause i can't waste food trying to make this several different ways. It sounds like it would be good, I want to make it, but how...can someone help?Read more

    Best banana pudding ever!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Wow! I first tasted this at a friend's house and I vowed then and there not to ever use another banana pudding recipe. To... me, the Chessman cookies really stand out. I thought it was a nice change from all the othe recipes with Vanilla Wafers. And sometimes there can be too many bananas in some of the other recipes and I found this was not the case with this one. It's kind of like a "gourmet" banana pudding. And the leftovers the next day were just as good. This recipe does make a ton of banana pudding so it's perfect for any kind of get-together or party. Seriously, make it because you will not be disappointed!!!Read more

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I've made this more times that I can remember now and everyone absolutely loves it! I use vanilla wafers instead of the... chessmen cookies but that is the only change I make. Coworkers and friends request that I make this pudding for every party!Read more
