Eek. I love trying new macaroni and cheese recipes but this has to be the worst one I have ever tried. There is way too much cheese and then adding sea salt makes everything way too salty. There is not enough pasta per cheese. It was edible but not what I expected from a Paula Deen recipe.

Really a 4.5. A little to sophisticated for the kids, but us adults loved it. Yummy and so easy to make.

Best Mac and Cheese, the Pancetta really gives it a good taste.

This was one of the tastiest Mac and cheese recipes I have had. My wife and I went to the Tee Off Bar and Grill while in San Francisco and found the food to be great.

Very rich! Just a few changes: (1In the future, I will use a different size pasta. I found the ziti too big. (2 I used 1 1/4 pound pasta which for my taste was too much. I like my mac and cheese very creamy. I'll use one pound of pasta in the future. I did not salt the pasta water and was glad that I didn't. The parmesan and sharp provolone cheeses makes it salty enough. This is not something that I would make on a regular basis but for the rare occasion when one craves a rich meal with no regard to calorie count, I would make it again! My husband described it as "delicious" a word that he seldom uses when talking about food.

Very good, very rich. Next time I will use milk and maybe double it for a bubblier sauce. Awesome flavor, though. Also made one with cauliflower for low-carb and it was yummy.

Help!!!!!! I made this recipe today and had some issues. I used bacon instead of pancetta due to price and availability, other than that I followed the recipe and when I added all the cheese the mixture became thick and stringy. It seemed more like the consistency of bread dough and not a cheese sauce. Anyone know what might have caused this? Otherwise the flavor of it was awesome.

This recipe rocks! It is one of my families favorites.......I use about 1/2 cup more cream to make it a little creamier.
