WOW! I purchased a horchata drink from the store for the first time and loved it...so when I saw this recipe on Sunny's show, I gave it a try...what a dissappointment....the flavor was OK, but the consistancy was so thick it was hard to drink....I will never make this again :-(

This was foul!! Horchata is supposed to be refreshing and sweet, and a thin consistency!! Using the water from the cooked rice made it too thick and a "snotty" consistency! I gagged trying to take the first sip!! You are just supposed to soak the rice for several hours, not cook it!

I tried this with brown rice and raw sugar. I will never again purchase rice milk. This was really good and so easy to make. I loved it warm but I will try it with a cold cereal.

I will have to try it plain.

Awesome! I tried fresh and frozen fruits and berries. All good. Makes my mouth happy, with or without rum. Yum!

Read the reviews and tried it anyway. : Strained it in a regular metal strainer cuz I didn't have cheese cloth; not much pulp.

Used Jasmine rice, 1/2 cup of sugar, and some dried dragon fruit I had.

    A real winner!

My family is Cuban and I didn't know they didn't like Horchata....they've never had Peach Horchata so I made this, and they liked it! I've never had it before and I thought it was yummy! I prefer it to be warm....try this if you've never had it!

I have had some real delicious horchata in my life. I had some when I was in Mexico, and my mom also makes some great horchata. This one was not even close to any horchata I have ever had in my life. Horchata is suppose to be a cold refreshing drink. This was more like cold, sweet, thick, syrup. It wasn't even a good smoothie. It was a mess to make and I would not recommed this recipe to anyone. This is not a real horchata recipe..

Who told you that you are supposed to cook the rice. Your horchata water looks thick like mucus. The rice is supposed to soak for 3 hours not be cooked, strained, or mixed with peach. Nasty!
