This is better than my mom's pecan pie! My husband doesn't eat many desserts outside of chocolate. He asks for this pecan pie! Now that tells you how good it is. My friend said she doesn't usually like pecan pie; this is the only pecan pie she likes!

Instead of using a pie plate, I cut the crust into 4" rounds and used a muffin tin for the pies (tarts. I then baked them for 30 min. at 350. My husband loved them! I made this for his birthday instead of a cake. This way he can easily take one in his lunch to work.

Quite a few people in my family like pecan pie, but most of the time it's so sweet - you can hardly eat it.
I substituted chopped pecans for the halves, so I'm sure there was more pecans than required, but it made it taste wonderful! I received many complements at Christmas.

This recipe is the ultimate pecan pie. A little costly and work intensive but good things don't come easy or cheap. For a little more pazazz, I throw in a hand full (not too many now of chocolate chips, it adds another dimension to the flavor.
