This was absolutely delicious! I made mini tarts though, not a big pie, and used homemade pastry. Didn't make the whiskey sauce either. Really was soooo good.

Melts on your mouth!! It was my first time making pecan pie. I recently tasted my friend's pie and it was amazing, so I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could make one just as yummy for Easter.
This recipe definitely allowed me to do so! In fact, my family loved it so much (they devoured two of them in a half hour!, I think I may have outdone my pal! I did end up baking it just a bit longer than the video suggested (closer to the written recipe on this site: I covered it with foil for 40 mins and uncovered for about 25-30 mins (otherwise it would've been a little runny. It came out wonderfully. You know it's done when you jiggle the pan a bit and the filling is just a bit loose in the center. It'll set as it cools.
Oh!! And the whiskey sauce... mmm... the sauce just topped it off! Wasn't an overpowering whiskey taste at all. This recipe was a hit for everyone! Even the super picky people!

I had never made a pecan pie before so after doing some searching I decided to try Ree's recipe. I didn't have any corn syrup so I substituted honey instead. It was sooo good. This is the only pecan pie recipe I will use. I didn't make the whiskey sauce but it was great without it. Thanks for sharing this recipe Ree.

This was a big hit at Thanksgiving. Don't skip the maple whiskey sauce. It is fantastic!

Growing up in the south, pecan pie was always on our table. This recipe is excellent. My family loves it, and the maple cream sauce just makes the whole thing over the top delicious!
