This was an outstanding pie! I did not make the cream sauce. Only the pie. Made 2 actually and gave out to friends....they all loved it. I usually work on Saturdays, so I miss your show Ree, but today I was able to watch your in the Mist show. Very impressed, and thankyou for all the wonderful recipes!!!

Hands down, this is the best pie I've ever made (and I've been a baker for 40 years! I served this after our Thanksgiving dinner, and the moans and groans were not because people ate too much. It was because they were flipping out with every bite! As if the pecan pie wasn't enough, the Whiskey Maple Cream Sauce completely took it over the top. Delicious! I'm not a big fan of desserts that scream a liquor flavor, so I cut back the whiskey from 1 tablespoon (3 tsps to 2 teaspoons. It was perfect. The crust recipe I used was Ina's Barefoot Contessa's Pie Crust recipe. This is also a terrific recipe. Bottom line: Ree Drummond hit a home run with this dessert. Thank you, Ree!

This was the best pecan pie. I took it tomThanksgiving dinner at a friend's house and it was a total hit! Several, people at the dinner said it was the best pecan pie they ever tasted. And the Whiskey sauce...as my friend said, you could eat it on crackers! Outstanding. The best part is that's the pie doesn't have that gelatin taste like traditional pecan pie. It's more like just candy! I bought a good pie crust without lard that was flaky and blended well. I would definitely make this pie again, and again.

My family loves walnuts, so I replaced the pecans with walnuts. Being Washington Stater's, we call this Washington Walnut pie This recipe is absolutely the best and so easy to make!! I made this pie this morning and everyone is devouring it right now.

Mmmmm good. I followed the recipe exactly and let the pie sit overnight. It was delicious. I have made pecan pies before but usually with pecan halves that I mixed in the filling during prep. I liked the use of chopped pecans in the bottom of the pie crust much better. The whiskey maple drizzle is good too. However, it never did thicken while cooking. I put it in the fridge for about an hour before placing over the pie and it still wasn't that thick. No matter though; it was still good.

This is simply the best pecan pie recipe ever. And so simple to make. Thank you Ms. Drummond for this recipe. It will be included in future Thanksgiving dinners. I made it for the first time this year and it was a HUGE hit. Simply wonderful. :-
