After seeing this pie made on The Pioneer Woman's Throwdown with Bobby Flay, I had to make it. I ended up making 6 pecan pies during the 2010 Thanksgiving Holiday. I had people begging for me to remember to make them their pecan pie for this year. I have my work set out for me this year but well worth it!! This pie and sauce are the BEST!!!

I made this last year, 2010 for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it was a HUGE hit. Everyone love the pie, the sauce was amazing. Well worth the effort. Once again Miss Ree, you did it!!!

I made this last week for a family reunion and it was a big hit. The pie will melt in your mouth, and it's so easy my 7 year old grandaughter made it. She even helped roll out the pie crust. :

My sister is a pecan pie "addict" and absolutely flipped over this recipe. I prefer pie (in any way/shape/form to cake and this is definitely a keeper. Don't be thrown off my number of ingredients. It is a VERY easy recipe and the results are unbelievable. The Maple Whiskey Sauce is amazing and REALLY good over a basic bread pudding, too! Try this ... it's worth the effort!

There are not enough stars to rate this recipe, it's a TEN for sure. The maple whiskey sauce just kicks the pie up a notch and so hard to stay out of it....it's the best pecan pie.

I saw her challenge throwdown with Bobby Flay. I tried her pecan pie recipe and had my "pecan pie connoisseurs" give me their ratings. These were their comments: "The best pie I've ever eaten. It's not good, it's fantastic. I've never tasted a pie this good. The best pie we've ever tasted." I've, personally, never been a fan for pecan pie, but I even liked this one. I'd give it a ten star rating.

I have never made pie crust let alone a whole pie before. I ususally by the frozen pie crust and use the pumpkin pie recipe on the can. When my husband saw this episode, his mouth actually dropped open and he started to drool. So I took a chance. Hands down the best pie either of us have ever tasted. The crust was flaky. Just delicious!
