These are certainly attractive but I found them 'much work for an average cookie'. First time that Giada has failed me.

SOOO YUMMY! Gotta give these a try!
    I changed a few things:
1-Instead of putting ganache in fridge put it in the frezer!
2-Flatten ganache in your hand before you put inside cookie
3- I just used the pre-cut cookies you peel apart and put on the pan!
    Giada wins again!!!!!!!!!!! :

I first made these cookies when they appeared on the 2008 12 Days of Christmas. They are my favorite Christmas cookies now! And always a hit when I take them to a party or cookie exchange. I cut my cookies much smaller (used a shot glass 1 3/4 " diameter, baked for 7-8 min and it made 25 sandwich cookies. Otherwise followed the recipe as written. Tastiest and most festive cookie for the holidays!

I LOVE the combination of chocolate and peppermint flavors, so this cookie is delicious to me. And so easy! I'm handing them out this Christmas as gift in cute little cookie tins.

I took the candy canes and put them in a food processor to crush them better and make the cookies easier to eat. I also sprinkled the tops of each cookie with the crushed peppermint and white chocolate chips. Yum!

This cookie is simply amazing! I like to use my grandmother's butter cookie recipe in lieu of sugar, and William Sonoma's Peppermint Snow for the top.

These were fantastic! I made them with Paula Deen's sugar cookie recipe (rolled in plastic wrap, chilled and then sliced and used Hershey's (striped Peppermint kisses which I cut into shavings and sprinkled on the top since I like the flavor and look but didn't want a hard candy on top. These freeze really well also. What a great addition to my Christmas cookies list!

This was a hit at my christmas party! I made my own sugar cookie dough so it took a long time but the outcome was worth all the effort.

These are so good! As I was making these, my husband reminded me that he doesn't like sugar cookies. I promised him he wouldn't even realize they were sugar cookies!

Love, love, love these cookies. I use my own sugar cookie recipe...they make a stunning presentation as gifts or on any cookie tray during the Christmas season.
