As it stands Davin obviously don't have much to do around the holidays other than bake, but for the rest of us in a timecrunched, kid filled, fulltime job, crazy family holidays - these cookies are a great treat and festive to boot. You don't have to take claim for making the cookies completely from scratch, you just have to enjoy them. What a fun, and smart recipe.

I love being able to bake new cookies for Christmas. This site has a lot of awesome recipes. I found another good recipe site as well.

Here it is: Creative Christmas Ideas For Baking

It's very easy to make... There's nothing wrong with store bought cookie doughs. If you want there are a lot of sugar cookie recipes you can find on the food network website, you don't have to call it low standard. They look great for something you make yourself. I cut the cookies using Christmas tree cutter and used white chocolate with a little bit of green food coloring as the chocolate dip. Then put the crushed peppermint candy on top, they look very nice.

I am not to hip on the pre-packaged cookie dough. So I used a sour cream sugar cookie reciepe that I have. Together these cookies are really quite good. So as the reciepe stands I would not have made them- but now that I have combined it with another reciepe I will try them again.

This recipe is great! Especially for extremely busy, time crunched people during the holiday season! I wouldn't call it low standards to use pre-made cookie dough, Davin, I would call it extremely smart thinking, especially if you want to make something that tastes special, but you have 2 small children, a full-time job, and a thousand Holiday functions to bake for!

I had to double check and make sure I was on Food Network and not the site of a food manufacturer. I would have been ok with it if the first instruction was to make a batch of sugar cookies listed somewhere else on the site, but simply embellishing a prepackaged dough is pretty low standards.

I made these cookies using a sugar cookie recipe from the back of a package of sugar. The chocolate I used was Ghirardelli. These cookies were just SO delicious that there were absolutely zero left by the end of my holiday party. I will definitely be making them year after year!! Thanks Giada :

These cookies are absoultely to die for!! I get excited all year for making these things come Christmas time. The cookies become soft and alaomst chewy-like when paired with the chocolate ganache. Defiently a hit at christmas parties and family dinners.
I will absolutely keep making these every year!

I made these last year for my friends and coworkers around Christmas time. Instead of using pre-made sugar cookie dough, I chose to make my own and added some red and green striped white chocolate chips that I just couldn't pass up. Either way, the cookies were still a HUGE hit and people just couldn't stop eating them! I had some people even coming back for more, and I could hardly keep from sneaking a few myself! The only thing I noticed is that you might want to let the ganache sit out for a bit before sandwiching in between the cookies, because some of mine were breaking from the hardness of the center. Even the store bought cookie dough that I used to fill out the rest of the recipe C:
