Perfect French Pressed Coffee with Frothed Milk

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons coarse-ground French roast coffee for every 3/4 cup hot water used
  • Hot milk, preferably 2 percent, as needed
  • Equipment: French coffee press and a hand-pump milk frother
Directions
  • Remove the plunger from the coffee press and put the coffee in the bottom. Pour in the water, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top and stir with a small wooden spoon. Rest the plunger on top of the glass pot and let the coffee steep for about 4 to 6 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, pour the hot milk into the frother, insert the plunger, and pump until the milk is frothy.

  • Using slight pressure, slowly push the plunger down on the coffee press. Divide the coffee among cups and spoon over the frothed milk. Serve immediately.
