Ingredients
  • One 2 1/2-pound top round beef roast
  • Granulated chicken base, for marinating
  • 2 ounces sliced onions
  • 2 ounces sliced green peppers
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • One 8-inch hero bun
Directions

Rub the meat all over with some chicken base and put it into a large container. Cover and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Put the beef into a large roasting pan and roast it until rare, about 2 1/2 hours. Remove the roast to a cutting board and let cool before thinly slicing.

Saute the onions and peppers together in a grill pan over medium-low heat until softened. Add 6 ounces of thinly sliced beef over the peppers and onions. Top with the cheese and allow it to melt.

Put the grilled meat, cheese, onions and peppers on the hero bun and serve.
