Ingredients
  • One 2 1/2-pound top round beef roast
  • Granulated chicken base, for marinating
  • 2 ounces sliced onions
  • 2 ounces sliced green peppers
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • One 8-inch hero bun
Directions
  • Rub the meat all over with some chicken base and put it into a large container. Cover and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Put the beef into a large roasting pan and roast it until rare, about 2 1/2 hours. Remove the roast to a cutting board and let cool before thinly slicing.

  • Saute the onions and peppers together in a grill pan over medium-low heat until softened. Add 6 ounces of thinly sliced beef over the peppers and onions. Top with the cheese and allow it to melt.

  • Put the grilled meat, cheese, onions and peppers on the hero bun and serve.
