This wasn't near as wonderful as I was hoping. I suspect one of the reasons could be the instructions don't match what I remember from the show, nor what I see in the picture above. The meat is totally lost in the melted cheeses. The picture doesn't show melted cheese but rather shows it added to the sandwich separate. If I make this again, I will try it that way. My husband did love the cilantro sauce and I loved the bite of avocado in the sandwich, but overall we were disappointed,

I was disappointed. It was very very rich and the American cheese just made the whole thing have that processed flavor that I would expect out of fast food and not a fresh home meal. Based on the previous reviews I even used a lot less cheese.

Made this tonight, hubby loved it. I did not use as much cheese as suggested and I also substituted sharp cheddar for the american.cheese. I also added jalapeno slices for some heat..
Good job Vic, this is a keeper.

This was delicious and my husband loved it. He had a happy plate - LOL and said to definitely make again. I didn't use the avocado nor the american cheese and we also added some jalapenos on the side to give it a kick. Great recipe Vic!

Loved this. We were on a w/e RV trip-had steaks the night before, so made this philly-rito the next day using left over sliced steak. I did reduce the cheese-used mexican style shredded cheese with a few cheddar slices. Sauce was awesome. I added a few pickled jalapenos to the sauce.Husband is still talking about the sandwich.

This was fantastic! Next time I would probably reduce the cheese by half, or increase the steak by a pound. But it still was delicious!

This dish was WONDERFUL! I've made it twice. Both times I 86ed the American cheese though. WTG, Vic!
