Ingredients
- 24 dates, pitted
- 1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 baguette, cut into 1/4-inch slices
- Olive oil
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Chop the dates and pine nuts, add them to a small bowl and mix to combine. Put the date and nut mixture into a small pan over medium heat, then stir in the red wine and the honey. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Put the bread slices on a sheet pan and a drizzle with olive oil. Put in the oven and toast. Top each toast with 1 tablespoon of the date mixture. Arrange the crostini on a serving platter and serve.

Dates are not my favorite, but I thought the combo of pine nuts and dates might be interesting. The result- completely delicious!!! This is definitely one that I will make over and over as an appetizer for parties.
