This mexican stew was fantastic. The tomatillos gives this dish an amazing fresh vegetable flavor. This was the first time I've ever used tomatillos but will certainly not be the last. With the little bit of heat from the chiles and good amount of the chicken and potatoes make this a hearty meal perfect for the cold months.

Great recipe, entire family liked it! I didn't have anise, so I omitted it, and the grocery store was out I'd chili de arbors, so I substituted it in powder form to taste. I roast the poblanos directly on my gas stovetop flame and then out in a plastic bag to sweat the skins off. This is a great dish for cold nights.

Tasty? What did you think? This recipe is GREAT!! I made it tonite for the first time. My husband loved it and he has never even had hominy before. Ok, so I skipped the anise(didnt have any. I also substituted the ancho chile peppers with good ol' enchilada sauce. Cooking is so fun its all about what YOU like so have fun with it. If there is something you dont like, omit it!! Swap out, for what you do like. I added thinly sliced cabbage to mine

My husband is Mexican and this recipe definitely impressed him and my in-laws. My husband loves it so much that he requests me to make this for him even during summer!! This recipe is an all-around winner -- easy, healthy and (too delicious!!

I live in a small town so have to travel for good ingredients. After three stores I have everything and I'm making this soup right now! Roast the poblanos the day before, to save time, if you want, if you get them fresh like I did, and put down foil on your baking sheet if you oven-roast them.... way easier cleanup! I'll post after we taste, it's gonna be an hour or so, can't wait to see if it's as fabulous as it looked on TV!

OK so I have not made this recipe yet however I am fairly certain that this soup will be insanely great, just from seeing the show tonight and reading the ingredients. I honestly was praying to see this recipe on Guys list of recipe he offers and I got it.........First thing in am I am running out to the local Saturday Farmers Market and getting all the ingredients for this. I am so excited to make this. What is more exciting is how healthy the ingredients look and how tasty. Will post results later...... THANKS SO MUCH GUY. Love your show!!!
