Awsome! My daughter is Chinese. We adopted her from China 17 years ago so I've been trying to prefect my chinese cuisine for her. I can't begin to tell you the number of different potstickers, dumplings etc. that I have made and this is by far the best fo far. LOVE IT! THANK YOU FOOD NETWORK.

Followed the directions to a "T" and it turned out wonderful. Sounds like cooking4funofit needs some lessons. Some who can get around a kitchen and know how to follow recipes will enjoy this dish immensely. Always chuckle when some substitute and change the recipe w/o following it exactly the 1st time, then give bad reviews on their own version, tee, hee, he...

@ Cooking4funofit..Sounds like you rated your own version of this recipe, and really didn't know how to handle the dough properly. I followed the recipe as written, as you should do if you are going to rate it, and it was delish........

First, the dough was pretty heavy. I tried rolling it thinner than the 1/8" but it was difficult. There was just to much dough & that is all you could taste once cooked.

Secondly for the filling I used half chicken (white and dark & half ground pork. Chicken just would have been to bland.

Cooked the dumplings as instructed but they were 'dense' so decided to boil them for 10 mintues to lighten the dough. This made them taste better than rocks.

The sauce was terrible & salty. Added lots more vinegar, water & a few more things which made it much better. There was no reason to add as much soy sauce as was called for. This was a crazy amount & someone had to have made a mistake when reinterpreting this recipe!!

I would strongly suggest if you love dumplings research other recipes because something is definitely missing from this one. We did end up eatting my dumplings however we all agreed there was room for improvement.

Just made them and the boyfriend can't keep his hands off of them. I used the store bought wonton wrappers and I also didn't use the corn in the filling and they still tasted good. I also used red wine instead of a white wine in the sauce and it turned out good as well. Overall a good recipe.

After watching this DDD episode, I definitely had potstickers on the brain and had to make these! I was so happy that they turned out so well! Although I made the filing per the recipe (minus the corn, I did not make the dough or the sauce; I used store bought wonton wrappers (square ones, my store didn't have the round and I think that actually made it harder on me. The dough in the episode appears to be moist and that saves one from having to constantly wet their fingers to get the dough to initially seal, as well as to make the crimps. Having to use the water for the store bought makes it a little messy and time consuming. I really like the idea of heating the sauce and will definitely make it as well. The sauces I've made in the past haven't really hit the mark for me and I think the missing factor was the heat. Will report back after I tackle the whole thing! Do make these, the filling is great - light and very flavorful!
