A vanilla bean plus TWO OUNCES of vanilla and FOUR OUNCES of pumpkin pie spice?! Obviously, there is a mistake in these amounts. It also seems like a lot of sugar for one loaf of French bread. I was going to make this for Thanksgiving but I'm going to wait for someone else to try it first.

Here is a recipe for Spiced Pecans. They are delicious alone also. I'm sure walnuts could be substituted for the pecans. I'm sure pecans would work in the pudding.

    Spiced Pecans

    1 egg white
    1 tsp. cold water
    1 lb. pecan halves
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt

Beat egg white and cold water until frothy, add pecans and coat. Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt. Coat pecans with the sugar mixture. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour on a buttered shallow pan. Stir every 15 min. Cool.
    Enjoy!!

This recipe calls for 2 ounces of vanilla??????? That's 1/4 cup, and most recipes call for 1/4 teaspoon or so. Surely that's incorrect?

The thing Guy raved about most were the candied walnuts, but they were not included in the recipe. Disappointing.

I love bread pudding, and this recipe looks DELISH. I'm soooo making it for Thanksgiving. The other reviews are right in that the candied walnuts have been left out of this, according to the episode I watched tonight.

Yes, I recorded this and the recipe did have candied walnuts. Has anyone tried this recipe? Is it as good as it looked on the show?

Didn't this recipe have candied walnuts in it? I thought I saw
guy tasting them on the show? I think this is the correct recipe I was looking for but wanted to be sure. Thank you.
