One of my favorites. The only shepherds pie recipe I use. I use beef, haven't tried lamb yet.

Madee it tonight. Look no further for a shepherd's pie recipe. Just watch the gravy. Mine was lumpy when following the recipe. Add the broth slowly while whisking. My friend was here and saved the day by making gravy another way. The dish was fantastic.

YUM! I add a bit more of the worchesters sauce because I enjoy the extra flavor. For those first timers though for this recipe follow it to the T and your good!

Excellent recipe, but felt the prep was a lot. I added the following and it was delicious
- As I was browning the beef,..I added a little fresh garlic, onion and Fat Tire Beer. The rich flavor of the beer gave it a wonderful taste. I also added more fresh garlic, a little red pepper and lots of carrots, a handful o frozen peas and Montreal steak seasoning. I made a a little extra gravy and swirled over the top before I broiled. I had rave reviews. Yummo!

Serves FOUR?! Four giants maybe. Yummy enough though, but the possibilities with shepherd's pie are endless.

For some reason, this 30 minute shepherds pie took 40 minutes to prepare. At first I was confused, but then I realized I must have finally mastered the ability to warp the space-time continuum. Was/is/will be delish. See you last week!

This recipe is definitely a keeper! I liked some of the suggestions from previous posts and will try some of those variations. The only things I changed was to add garlic while sauteing the beef and since I didn't have any fresh veggies on hand I used a frozen medley mix. Quick, easy & super tasty! Thanks Rachael!

This was very tasty (although it took me longer than 30 minutes to prepare. I made a couple of minor changes based on Alton Brown's shepherd's pie recipe. I added 2 T. tomato paste, 3 t. dried parsley, 1/2 t. each dried rosemary and dried thyme. I also used 1 cup beef broth instead of 1 cup and also mixed in 1 package brown gravy mix with the beef broth to add flavor and help thicken. I used 1/2 package frozen mixed veggies. Will definitely keep this in my meal rotation!
