AWESOME flavor!!! I left the cinnamon out. Whenever I buy a roasted chicken, I usually buy 2, shred the chicken for this recipe and freeze it, along with the ancho chile sauce (same as I use for enchiladas.... on the day that I'm pressed for time, its all ready to go.....
LOVE THIS!!!

I loved this recipe as a basis for my variation. I did not use Ancho Chiles, just chicken broth. Instead of red chilies, I added New Mexico red chili powder while sauteing the veggies and spices. I used 1 cup of Trader Joe's roasted corn. I added about 3/4 cup of cooked rice and a can of drained black beans. I added sea salt, and at the end, I added about a tablespoon of lime juice to brighten up the flavor. Topped with chopped cilantro, crushed tortilla chips, fresh lime juice, and hot sauce.

Excellent - this is the best RR recipe I have ever made! Loved the flavor combination - loved the spicy, smoky, and sweet flavors. Adding the lime juice at the end makes all of the difference. Can't make this again soon enough!

BRILLIANT! I have made many chicken tortilla soups before, but this is by far the best one yet! The fresh corn is definitely the way to go, the sweetness of it against the spicy is amazing! I didnt have ancho so i substituted the canned chipotle and added black beans. I also used all chicken stock instead of water. I CANT STOP EATING IT!

Fabulous recipe. I added an additional 2 fresh poblano peppers and substituted chicken stock for the 2 cups of water. Real hit with the family!

This was very good! I wish I had read the comments first, because I would have added black beans. I think they would have gone perfectly! I did not have ancho chiles, so I used guajillos instead. It came out great! I will definitely be making this again.
