Mine was even a little more economical...once I deboned the rotisserie chicken, I took the bones and skin and made the chicken stock that I used in the recipe instead of buying it. Brought one quart of water to a boil, strained it, added my chilies...awesome! and economical!!

This soup was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!Very tasty...I used Store bought Tortillas which i found to be better and I used extra broth and a bottle of beer. I found that putting some pepper jack cheese stepped it up. Another great one Rachael!!!!!

Yum!!! Quite tasty, rich, and hearty! Wife gave her nod as well, as the clatter of spoons rang off our soup bowls. The flour tortilla strips were a breeze baked this way, and so light I am glad I went with them. Preferred the strips on top, with avocado, and sour cream.

I read the reviews first, and am glad I went with the extra can of chicken broth. Low sodium broth worked well, as I got salt from the tomatoes,(a can each of diced w/green chilies, and italian-seasoned. I like the thought of jack cheese on top, but would keep the sour cream, as it was a nice cool, refreshing touch -- as well as the juice on the avocado. Thanks Rachel -- loved it!

i'm usually never a fan of rachel ray recipes...but this soup is AWESOME! i used Anaheim peppers because my store didn't have Ancho. i also added a bottle of beer like others said she did in the episode, and i added another cup more of chicken stock because the soup was not "soupy" enough. other than that, i followed the recipe as is and can't say enough about it! really really really good. does take way longer than 30 minutes when you factor in the time it takes to shred the chicken and chop everything...but i'm not bothered by time, just want a quality product and this soup is just that!!!!

So easy! SO DELICIOUS! This is one of our go to recipes. It is so hearty and filling for a soup. We just love it! It's always a hit when we serve it to guests as well! We use store bought tortilla strips because that's just easier for us. We also skip the sour cream and add monterey jack cheese instead. Delightful!

This simple and fast soup packs in the flavor! We absolutely loved this soup! I used home roasted chicken breasts instead of rotisserie chicken and we did use store purchased tortilla chips for convenience which worked very well as we used a hearty corn tortilla chip. We also used the avocado and sour cream which really added a nice finish! We will definitely be making this one again!

This is the BEST tortilla recipe I have every used. Super easy, super fast and extremely delicious. My husband licked his bowl clean. I couldn't find ancho chiles, but substituted Anaheim chiles, which were just perfect. I even browned up some ground chicken to add some texture to the soup and it was a welcome addition. Try this recipe - you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

Wow...this is definitely a keeper!! Halved the recipe and it turned out beautifully. NO HEAT from the peppers, I was cautious about using seeds, next time I'll be more bold. Didn't really like the tortilla chips, they just go to mush so for leftover soup I served it over broken tortilla chips...MUCH BETTER, but I also like it without the chips at all. A+ and this can DEFINITELY be made in 30 minutes or less.

I DID NOT FIND THE ANCHO PEPPERS IN MY GROCERY, SO USED THE JALAPENOS INSTEAD, I'LL FIND THEM NEXT TIME, BECAUSE I PLAN TO KEEP THIS RECIPE FOREVER!!! IT'S GREAT!
