Easy to make! I didn't add the pepper but the recipe still came out with great flavors. I did use the suggestions to add garlic and decrease the sugar a bit. I also used ponzu sauce instead of tamari. Everyone loved and it fit right in with our Asian dinner theme!

Was excited to try this recipe..obsessed with pickles. I followed the recipe exactly the first time and they were a little too sweet for my taste and not enough saltiness. I made them a second time and used less sugar and I added a tablespoon of salt to the cucumbers before adding the vinegar. I also took some suggestions from another review and used yellow onions instead of scallions and added two cloves of garlic to the vinegar as it was heating up. Much better the second time around.

This was awsome!!! Might have had the marinade a little too warm, since the cucumbers were a little limp. Couldn't find fresh bay leaves, so I simmered dry in the marinade for about 5 minutes, then cooled. They still were great! Will make this again, and again, and again!!!! Tks!

This was really simple to do, and the results were great! The second time I made them I swapped the green onions for sliced yellow onions (the green onions seemed to lose their flavor after the first day. The third and most recent time, I added 3 cloves of garlic to the vinegar as it was heating up, and doubled the amount of the entire recipe.

This was just different enough. Make up a jar ... they keep for several weeks.

These are the easiest and BEST pickles!! I made a double recipe and added one Tablespoon of salt to the jar before I poured the hot vinegar mixture over the cucumber mixture. PERFECT!!! My whole family loved these ~ perfect with the Crunchy Tuna Burgers!!! :
