I made this for my boyfriend's family for Thanksgiving, and put them in the oven at the time requested and the potatoes still were not done. I had to leave it in the oven for a good hour, and by that time dinner was over. Plus I found it to be too soupy instead of a thick consistency as I thought it was supposed to be. Very disappointing!!

This was great - I made it exactly as written and it turned out perfect. The cream is thin but good - and I actually thought the leftovers were great (despite what other reviews said. It took ~45 minutes to cook the potatoes all the way through. I used fingerlings and found purple peruvians - together it all looked perfect!

A very nice potato dish; quick to make and with a nice flavor. I simmered the cream for a bit longer to really get the flavor of the herbs, and I threw the crushed garlic cloves into the dish with the potatoes.

We're making this one for the second Thanksgiving in a row!

I used red, gold and sweet potatoes and I am not a fan of sweet potatoes, but a friend gave me some Vardeman potatoes, which are suppose to be the best. I liked this dish. I found the cream not as full of flavor as I expected but good.

I have made these several times since Thanksgiving 2006. My husband requests them all the time and raves about them to anyone willing to listen. I also made them at Christmastime for a family gathering and everyone was impressed with how wonderful they were.

You definitely need to try these!!!

This dish may be fattening, but worth it for cold holidays. I've made it an annual tradition. It's absolutely easy and delicious. Infusing the cream with the herbs makes the house smell wonderful, too!

I made this for Christmas dinner and everyone loved it. I couldn't find fingerlings tho so I got several different new potatoes and sliced them instead. This is super easy to make even with slicing potatoes and smells good as it cooks.

Without a mandolin I was unable to slice the potatoes thin enough for them to finish cooking in the stated amount of time. It took twice as long as it should have.

OK So I didn't use the mixed potatoes, I just used all one kind of the ones I already had in my kitchen, and I used dried sage instead of fresh, since that's what I had on hand. It still turned out GREAT, although it was REALLY filling...which was good because it probably isn't that healthy anyway. It's great for a special occaision though, when you can get away with cheating on your diet.
