My family loves these. My husband especially loves these green beans. I have these made on several occasions and wouldn't change a thing!

I should have left the vinegar out. I used red wine vinegar and it really gave it a weird taste. Will try the cider vinegar next time. It was edible but not great.

these were sooo good. Had a nice combination of salty sweet. I am no fan of vinegar but it really brought the dish together. I used apple cider vinegar.

ok - let me just say that these were so good, I couldn't stop thinking about them. I had to eat the leftovers at 10am the next morning with the Louisiana Beer Braised shrimp.
I used cider vinegar and didn't change a single thing. I may add a little garlic next time, but otherwise, the best green beans I've ever tasted!!!

This is an excellent recipe! For those who claim the vinegar is too strong, use less. Everyone's taste buds are different. I've been using this recipe for quite some time. Easy to make, easy to eat, easy to love!
Thanks Rachael!

everytime something is easy AND delicious i don't believe it. i don't have too much luck with recipes. but i had left over bacon and a bag of green beans and found this recipe. i threw the beans in a pan with some olive oil, splashed in the red wine vinegar, heard it sizzling, so i threw my glass of champagne in!! midway through the cooking, i broke up my left over bacon, added the sugar and voila!!! thanks rachel and for everyone's comments on the recipe.

This recipe is just great, my husband said it could be a meal by itself. I did use frozen green beans but next time I will use fresh, just didn't have fresh this time. The frozen worked well but you have to watch to make sure they don't get too mushy. I also added a handful of sliced scallions. I will be making this again for sure.

I added mushrooms to this already over the top dish. This is a must save recipe! Everything is negotiable! Thank you Rachel for such a flexible, truly YUM-O dish!

I fixed these for thanksgiving dinner using red wine vin. I didn't find it overpowering at all, but you don't have to add all the vin mixture. Just add to taste.
