My husband is on a very low sodium diet (kidney failure, so we only use bacon for something special -- and then it's low-sodium, low fat turkey bacon (not like real bacon, but not bad. I, too, pre-cooked the bacon a bit, and used the oven instead of the grill. Definitely a good side dish; this time I served it with a swiss cheese (only moderately salty and mushroom omelet. Another time I made it for a girl-friends' luncheon with a fancy macaroni and cheese casserole. mmmmmm!

Great, but pre-cook the bacon and then wrap it around the asparagus. This way the bacon is cooked and crisp! Great idea and will do this again soon.

I tried these on the grill like a few others mentioned. Its not a good idea, I will say i have a cheap gas grill so its hard to control the temp. Even so i put these on the top rack and they still caught on fire. Had to pull them off while the bacon was still raw just to save the dish. The flavor however seemed like it would be good if done in the oven which I will try next time.

This recipe was out of this world phenomenal! Everyone at dinner was blown away with how delicious this was. I am definitely going to be making this again, and soon.

I made this as a side for a Valentine's Day meal and it was so easy and yummy! Next time I will coat the tips of the asparagus more so they don't get as crispy.

This was really good. All I had on hand was the pre cooked bacon that you still need to crisp up in the microwave, so I parboiled the asparagus for less then a minute before wrapping and then baked as normal. There is only two us us now so I tried to freeze 4 serving parboiled with the bacon wrap. Hope it tastes as good but I doubt it
