I made this, but omitted the jalepeno, as i dont like it really spicy, but it was really good, had just enough kick to it. i put in some cheddar cheese and ate it with some fritos the next day

This is a good recipe for chili. I ended up adding more chili powder and I omitted the jalapeno and cilantro. I wasn't overly crazy about the black beans so next time I will use kidney beans. All in all my husband and I liked it and I will be making it again.

My husband and I decided to whip up this recipe after watching Rachel make it earlier this week. The chili cooks as easily and quickly as she states and the flavors are so fresg. The cilantro a must for us! The corn cakes warm atop the chili was a perfect match! I've been looking for a great chili recipe and I do not have to look any further. Thanks Rachel!

Sooo good! I didn't de-seed the jalapeno though cause I like really spicy! This chili was perfect!

Best chili I've made, and I've made a few. Red peppers and black beans made for an attractive dish as well. The corn cakes were less successful. Personally, I prefer muffins, both for efficiency (the cakes took a while to make enuf. for a crowd, and because they are easier to eat.

this chili was great, and so easy to make. My boyfriend and I like things really spicy so I added some extra jalepeno and it was delicious. Another great Rachael Ray recipe!

I've tried many, many chili recipes and kits over the years and have finally found one I will stick with forever. I was skeptical about the corn cakes, but made them anyway and everyone was glad i did, especially the kids. The sweet corn taste was a nice accompaniment to the spicy chili.

This ia by far the best tasting chili there is. You can add a little more kick to it with a little cayane pepper. I entered this in a local cook off, and won. I followed the basics, but added additional types of bean and canned tomatoes. Marv Jarvis

This is my 2nd time making the chili and my first time making the corn cakes. They are AWESOME TOGETHER! Both are sooooo easy to make. I highly recommend that everyone try these recipes!

Good and fast, make the corn cakes thick though or you will have a mess. Also keep the pan a little cool so they get done inside without burning the outside.
