I read reviews first- added corn and olives and a can of diced tomatoes as well. No chocolate or cinamon. couldn't find polenta so topped with quick cornbread. burned cheese on top in broiler (but I think I may be using it worng! but the burnt cheese peeled off and everything else was good. I really enjoyed it! Meaty and delicious!

ok so I had to change this one a little which I don't usually do. This is a mole wantabe with the chocolate and cinamon. I used all beef and added corn and olives. Loved the polenta with the melted cheese on top and the chipotle was a good kick. not my favorite but the family loved it.

Well I did NOT like the cinnamon and cocoa. Also, there was way too much liquid. Additionally you do not need chicken stock for the polenta. If you dont like a recipe VERY spicy, eliminate the chipolte in adobo sauce. I did use ground beef instead of ground sirloin, much more economical.....overall fair dish, and I am a tamale guru!

This dish was good, but not what I thought it would be. The beef/pork is perfectly drenched in a thick, flavorful, sauce. Rachel is right... the cocoa and cinnamon do add a mystery touch. This is my first time working with polenta and chuckled when I realized it was the sister to my southern grits that so few people (outside the south have eaten. I used the last of my honey this morning so used just a splash of maple syrup. I'm not sure I'll cook again, but was a tasty dish.

This was a tasty way to do a dish with ground beef. I did use both the beef and pork. It is different than your run of the mill, taco tasting dish. Everyone ate it up. I CAN'T find quick cooking polenta in any store near me, so I use a cornbread topper instead. It was just fine.

Really enjoyed this but made a few alteration. already had ground turkey so i used that instead of the pork, added a can of diced tomatoes with green chili, a can of corn and a can of olives. It tuned out a lot like the one my mom and I used to make when I was a kid but a lot easier.
