I'm sure the beef tenderloin tastes better in this dish, but I had hamburger in the freezer so that's what I used. It was great. Both my husband and 13 yr. old son loved it. I only used one can (10 1/2 ounces Campbell's Beef Consomme because of the previous posts about the dish being too watery and it came out great. I also added a little dry white wine because that's all I had in the house. Next time I will try red. I think it will give the dish a little deeper flavor. I had intended to try the mushrooms but forgot. I will try that next time also. My son wasn't too thrilled about the cornichons but I thought they were interesting and made the dish a little out of the ordinary. My family likes it when I experiment with new things so it was something different. I went a little over on the 2 tsp. of mustard just because I was hurrying and got a little sloppy. Between that and the cornichons, the dish was a little on the vinegary side but I will adjust next time (maybe only use 1 1/2 tsp. mustard All in all the dish was excellent. Will make again!

The sauce was a little thin, so I took a little bit of hot water in a cup and added a tablespoon of flour, mixed it up, and added it to the sauce while it was still over heat. I also cooked the sauce longer than the recipie calls for- about 5-7 minutes. This thickened it right up. I added mushrooms as well. Overall, VERY good and very easy!

i did add more sour cream and used honey mustard instead of dijon. it was so good. my kids ate thirds!! we also used wheat egg noodles which made it have a nice rich taste overall. this will become a regular menu item at my house!

Simple and delicious meal that can be prepared in roughly 30minutes. I found my sauce to be too thin so had about 2 additional tablespoons of cornstarch. I also added mushrooms, garlic, and a splash of red wine to give it a little more flavor. All in all i would make this again.

Ideal for the quick and easy comfort food. I switched a few things in the recipe, I used mushrooms, garlic (3 cloves of garlic squeezed, wondra (I used quite a bit more than the recipe asked for and kept adding until I got to the consistency of the sauce I like added 2 cans of the consomme and more sourcream, a touch more of the dijon all of which are by your own taste buds of course. I did not use the cornichons. All and all this is a quick fix meal.

My family loves this dish. My daughter was so excited that we were having beef stroganoff for dinner, my 3 and 5 year old boys love it as well. Definitely something we enjoy. Easy to make.
