This meal was very easy and tasty! I added garlic and baby portabella mushrooms which I think added nice flavor. I did not add the pickles however my father travels in Russia and stated they are typically added in this dish.

This recipe is great, especially for those on a budget. Just use stewing beef instead of tenderloin.

Ok, this hit a home run with us. Although we didn't use the cornichons, it just didn't sound like a good addition to beef stroganoff. Will use mushrooms in their place next time.

I'm lactose intolerant so we replaced the sour cream with Tofutti Sour Cream and the sauce came out with a nice flavor. Oh, we also sprinkled it with paprika. Don't think this recipe needs garlic as posted by other users.

On a whim we bought a merlot by Red Diamond, vintage 2004, to have with the meal. It paired nicely. Cost was $10.

Used marinating steaks instead of the tenderloin to save some $$. Cooked up the beef, put it a side, then made the sauce. Had to use a bit more flour cause my husband likes thick sauces. Added the meat back in and simmered for a bit to tenderize. The pickles are a must even though they seem weird...it's what gives it some flavor for those that were complaining it's bland.

Will definatley add the to the "Do again" list.

Enjoyed this recipe and very easy to make. I added mushrooms and omitted the cornichons however.

Was really good - all family member loved it. Don't like mustard - eliminated it. Same with the cornichons - didn't have any. Seasoned meat with garlic and seasoned pepper, and used plain yogurt instead of the sour cream. Delicious.... no leftovers!
