I found the meatballs to be rather tasty, but it took longer to cook the meatballs. This 30 minute meal actually took me almost 2 hours to complete. The sauce was so-so. I wish I had some tomato paste or sauce for taste. There was too much liquid-which paired with the springy buccatini was a big mess!

MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW MADE THIS DISH AND I COULDN'T GET OVER HOW DELICIOUS THE MEATBALLS WERE. MY MOTHER IS ITALIAN AND I'VE BEEN MAKING GREAT MEATBALLS FOR 30 YEARS BUT THESE ARE DEFINITELY GOING IN MY BOOK. THE SAUCE, HOWEVER, WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. IT LOOKED AND SMELLED GREAT WHEN SHE WAS MAKING IT BUT WHEN IT WAS FINISHED SHE SAID SHE THOUGHT IT WAS BLAND. I TASTED IT AND IT WAS WORSE THAN BLAND. I STEPPED IN AT THE LAST MINUTE AND THREW IN LOTS OF DRIED OREGANO, RED PEPPER FLAKES AND GRATED PARMESAN. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE SAUCE OBVIOUSLY, BUT YOU GOTTA MAKE THESE MEATBALLS!!!

I love to cook but had never made meatballs, so these were my first ones. The recipe makes a lot, so I shared with a friend. We all loved them, even my toddler! The prep time was about an hour for me, but well worth it!

My husband made this recipe last night,
it was tasty and very simple to make.
My daughter ate this and she tends to be very fussy at meal time.

I was pleased to see the new RR making something reminicent of her old meals. This was a great, easy dinner, and will definately be made again. I used a higher fat meat and cooked them on a rack, and also simmered the sauce for about 30 minutes as my husband was late getting home from work, which just defined the flavors even more.
Also a trick one of the chefs on FN has is that if you are not using San Marzanos to put in about a teaspoon of sugar which really cuts down the acidity of the domestic canned tomatoes, it works great!
    Thanks!

The meatballs were fabulous. My first try at making meatballs and they were so good. The sauce needed a little more kick so I actually added Paula Deen's House Seasoning and it turned out wonderful. This recipe is excellent left over as well.
    Thanks!!
