I think I would have liked this better if I would have toasted the bread before I dipped it in the egg mixture. Tasted good, but I really had to get past the sogginess.

I made this a few days ago and it was SO good. I did substitute the jalape?o for a chipotle pepper. It added the spice and a really good smoked flavor. I only made the soup and the soup was even better the next day.

I only made the soup (or stoup, not the sandwiches. It was absolutely delicious. My husband and I were raving as we ate. It was so simple, with easy to find ingredients and totally hit the spot.
