Flavor is delish. However, this recipe appears 3 times. Twice using 2 cups of stock/broth, once using 4 cups. I used the quart recipe. I made it once before and wondered what I did wrong this time. I should have printed it back then. NOnethess, I love it.

I love this recipe. It is so good. The Monte Cristo is my Favorite I make it all the time.
I added Flour and water to make it thicker.

The "stoup" was more like a soup - very watery. The taste of the stoup was on the money. It wasn't burn your taste buds out. it was very balanced with heat. My son and I enjoyed it, but the next time I would use less stock or add some rice to it to make it more like a stew.

I have made different variations of this stoup substituted celery with chinese cabbage, black beans with other types of beans. This recipe is so good that I even added stewed chicken to it. My family loves it , this ones a keeper.

I love the Black Bean Stoup - it is a truly wonderful, quick, hearty, healthy meal! And, it freezes well so it is well worth making a big pot and paking it for lunches on work days! : I tend to add more hot sauce, since I love my food extra spicy! It comes out great every time!

This soup is so good, and so good for you! I made it tonight, and even my kids loved it. I have a 7yr old and 2yr old. My 3 and 5yr old neice and nephew even ate it. The only thing I suggest is adding more cumin and some chili powder to give it more flavor and heat. An excellent soup that I'm sure your family love.

This soup is wonderful. Has some kick to it to warm you up. The sandwich goes just perfect with it. I used the pepper jelly on the sandwich and it had a little sweet and a little heat. Just a comforting meal.

Loved this....added half a yellow bell pepper since i had it on hand & about a cup of corn I used about a teaspoon of cayenne instead of hot sauce. As others suggested i used about 3/4 of the chicken stock to keep the thickness i was looking for. Searved it with some sour cream & cilantro instead of scallions. Next time i think im going to add some shreaded chicken! thnx!!

I was home with a sore throat today and generallly not feeling well. I had just watched this episode and decided that soup is just what I needed, so I made it. What a wonderful recipe. The smokiness and heat was so good and really helped me feel better. Very simple to make and we only had to shop for the bean. Wow.

I made just the sandwich and was amazed at how great it was. I love pepper jelly and I'm always looking for new ways to add it to my everyday meals. It added a great flavor to an already good sandwhich. This sandwich was so yummy I couldn't put it down and the great part is you can use any meat and cheese you want to make it your own!
