turned out absolutely wonderful. I added a little extra pepper because I like things on the "very spicy side" and they ended up just perfect! Great recipe!! My family ate them along side of my miss-match-cabbage-soup and there was nothing but smiles.

I made these this morning and they were wonderful. I am going to also try the ham that Rachael recommended during the show!

    Happy New Year!

I made thisreceipe yesterday as breakfast. I then made mistake in the receiipe instruction and accidentally put one whole egg in the bowl plus a pinch of sugar too.I basically put everything in the bowl. So,I decided to arrange some. After I mix all the ingredients in the bowl,I pour the batter into the muffin cups till about 80%full. Then after I pour everything,I sprinkled sugar on each cup and baked them. My husband liked that too and we both enjoyed breakfast. It was nice breakfast.I acutually eyeballed salt and pepper andsugar but it came out really nice.THank you,Rachael!

These are so delicious and easy to make!!! I made 4 huge scones with my batter, but smaller ones could be made very easily. These will be a welcome addition to breakfast.

I must admit that I put in half the pepper called for, however, I felt this recipe lacked flavor. Also, I made 8 scones and needed to cook it 15 minutes to desired doneness.

These were VERY easy to make and turned out delicious! I used just 1 teaspoon of the pepper, and might cut it back even further next time. I plan to try this excellent basic recipe with different kinds of cheese and spices for variety. For those who were unsure what size box the recipe calls for, it is the smallest box (8 oz, which yields approximately 6 biscuits. This recipe made 5 good-sized scones for me.

I loved the ease of the scones. They were great to make as an alternative to a loaf of bread. HOwever, I recommend going easy on the pepper and cut back on the amount. It can be overpowering!

...I agree with the reviewer who indicated that "1 box" is rather ambiguous. 1 box of the mix I used provides 26 servings, according to the label.

Afterwards, I was in the grocery store and noticed at least 3 distinct sizes of box for mix -- so can anyone provide a more detailed amount?

I have never made a scone before. This recipe is a great basic, and anything can be added - fruit, chocolate, etc. Quick cook time too. The sugar on top is a great touch.
