I made this and wow - love them! They were so easy - the worst part was forming them - Rachel is right - get help forming them if you can. I made them bite size rather than so large, but if you do that, then make sure you rough chop the pecans a little smaller so they stick to the smaller bourbon balls easier. This will differently make these a Christmas tradition....

First...if you don't like bourbon or whiskey, you won't like these....because as the title suggests, the bourbon flavor is a prominent part of the recipe!

If your finished Bourbon Balls come out runny, just add more cookies until they are a firmer consistency. The amount of cookie needed seems to change with the type of bourbon. I've had to use up to a full box of Nilla wafers!

    Very tasty!

Wow..wow..wow...wow! I couldn't stop eating these! They are so addictive. In fact, instead of rum balls at christmas, these will be the new tradition! At first I was hesitant with the bourbon because it's not my favourite drink. But when combined with the peacans and Nilla cookies and left on the counter overnight, some of the alcohol evaporates and the taste that is left in your mouth is strong and very warm. Then the flavour of the nuts and Nilla follow afterwards! I will be making these all throughout the year and not just at Christmas! Thanks for yet another delectible snack Rach!

I loved this dessert. If you don't like bourbon this recipe is not for you!! Funny to hear the busy mom say, We don't need recipes that don't have alcohol in them??..too funny

Easy enough to mix up but doesn't hold any type of shape - perhaps the base should be refrigerated before forming into balls. And the fumes! You could get drunk off a whif!

As my five year old said, they look like turds. And taste like bourbon-flavored turds, as well. Not recommended.

Oh boy was I excited when I saw this recipe for what I thought would be delicious bourban balls. I LOVE pecans and I LOVE LOVE bourbon (like you Rach and I followed the directions precisly and to my disappointment these things turned into a runny goop that wouldn't form into the ball. Perhaps I was supposed to add EVOO or nutmeg? I don't know but I really couldn't entertain with these, since they didn't hold their shape. Darn, I used expensive bourbon too.
