I just made this last night and me and my husband LOVED it! Some pieces were mushy but we did not care, it was so good! I cannot wait to make it again. I used an Italian Garlic Bread with pieces of garlic in it and it was so good! I did not have any basil so I just left that out. I cannot say anything about leftovers because I just made it so I have not had a chance to reheat it. I would imagine it would be better if reheated in a pan though

As a kid I used to eat stewed tomatoes with toasted bread topping, which this recipe reminded me of. I love the cheese and texture of the bread with the tomatoes and the basil adds just the right touch! Very good comfort food for me. More like lazy man's pizza or Italian monkey bread???

If you're up for some rather tasty CROUTON SPAGHETTI it is quick, easy, and tastes fine and everything. But you'll be disappointed if you are expecting a quick and easy gnocchi.

I mean, really. Bread sauteed in olive oil and garlic. Melted smoked mozzarella. Crushed San Marzano tomatoes (which is what I use instead of sauce. It's easy and delicious. No, it's not super healthy, but everything in moderation right?

    really ?
    GNOCCHI IS IN QUOTATIONS.
    Rachel Ray says, "Gnocchi"
which means its not really gnocchi but another interpretation it gnocchi.
    seriously people, get real.
    this recipe was delightful.

This is really good. I only tried this because I had some old bread and it looked really good. Boy, am I glad I did. If the butter and oil are hot enough and you keep stirring the bread, it gets toasted on all sides--not just two sides like in a toaster. That's how you avoid the mushy factor, but it does NOT reheat well. My husband couldn't believe it was bread. He wanted to know what else I added to it. F.Y.I. I have never had gnocchi. So, I can't compare it with the real thing.

I find it so ironic that Rachel Ray starts off this episode by saying she's going to be making something that's tasty and good for you because this recipe is neither of those things. I found it to be terribly gross and why not call it what it really is.....chesse and sauce on bread. I only gave this a one because zero wasn't allowed.
