My picky family was weary of this dish at first, but after they tried it they loved it. It is now one of our favorites, and it is a common request for dinner!

More like tomato and basil mush. Sure you can take the extra step of drying the bread cubes in the oven first, but then it wouldn't be a 30 minute meal. Plus it's not even worth the effort. Just use frozen gnocchi. You will have a good meal on the table in less than 30 minutes.

Taste was very good. Toasted the bread so that it was still a little crunchy on the outside. Definately a quick recipe for leftover bread

Tried it cause it was simple and had stuff on hand to make it. The wife and I liked it pretty well. Tried it again with some chicken pieces in it that was better.

Rachael's bread did not look soggy. Trick of the camera or what? Mine came out soggy and my husband said he didn't like the texture at all and my son wouldn't eat it either. Maybe if you made the sauce and then everyone at the table added the fried bread cubes on top before eating. I can't think of any other way for this not to be a mess.

Put the toasted bread into casserole, then heat up the tomatoes, Pour that over the bread and stir to coat. Broil as directed, results are bread that remains firm and still a bit crunchy, family loved it, it's a keeper.

1 I dried the bread in the oven and 2 added sauteed eggplant and squash.
It was fantastic. I think starting with a sturdy, tasty bread is the best advice for this recipe. Thanks Rachel and Cassie!

I thought it was easy to make but the bread was soooo soggy. It looked so good when Rachael made it but my family didn't like it at all! I had to throw the rest of it away!
