My husband, five kids, and I rated this and we averaged to four stars. It was good and filling. I didn't use all of the butter called for--about half of it. I'd say for our family, we could have just done 1/2-3/4 the recipe. It made a lot. I also did butter, garlic, and sage in a second skillet and sauteed some chicken tenderloins to give us more protein.

If I were to make it again, I would cut the amount of pasta in half, and add a few more ladles of starchy water. It definitely needs the pepper and the handfuls of cheese. It really doesn't take all that long to make, so it is a good weekday meal!

VERY EXCELLENT MEAL. MAKES ENOUGH FOOD TO FEED MY FAMILY 3 NIGHTS IN A ROW. I THINK THE RECIPE SHOULD ALLOW FOR A LIITLE MORE COOKING TIME ON THE NOODLES. I LIKE MY NOODLES A LITTLE SOFTER, BUT OTHERWISE IT WAS YUM-O !

Thanks Rachael! Loved the flavor combinations on this one -- and agree with those who would cut back on the pasta. Next time we'll add the cheese at the table for easier cleanup.

Loved this recipe. So quick and easy. Makes lots of food. I cut the pasta, potato and cabbage amounts in half but made the full amount of butter/sage/cheese sauce. Will definitely add this to my regular rotation of recipes. Yum!

This was nasty - so bland and odd mix of ingredients.

Fast, easy, delicious and definitely filling. Even if you dislike cabbage, I guarantee you will love this recipe. Next time I'll use a half pound instead of a pound of linguine only because I happen to love cabbage and would want a little less pasta - simply a personal preference, no reflection on the recipe at all. The pound of pasta was just fine as my children are pasta lovers. This one is a definite keeper!

So easy and a nice change. My husband loves fettucini and the potatoes and cabbage give this a real old world feel. Lots of food with minimal prep and ingredients. I used less sage than recommended and we loved it.
