The good news about this recipe is that the pasta and sauce are very creamy. The bad news is that, much to my surprise, it lacked any distinctive flavor other than a hint of lemon. I used the max amounts for the suggested seasonings and the only substitutions I made were whole wheat pasta (which Rachael said she she sometimes uses in this recipe and spinach instead of escarole. I find escarole to be totally flavorless and love spinach. It didn't help. If you like bland pasta, you'll be comfortable with this recipe.

This was probably one of the best homemade pasta dishes I've ever had. The egg added this delicious creaminess to the pasta without the added fatty milk or butter that you sometimes need to add a certain creaminess to a pasta dish. I will DEFINITELY make this again. One of my favorites!

I caught the very last bit of this episode, and those 10 seconds made me want this dish. I went through a good bit of trouble looking it up, but boy was it worth it (i had DVRed Good Eats with 10 seconds of RR at the begining back in December 2010. The pasta was very easy, very quick and absolutely delicious. The flavours come together very well, and while i dont think it tastes like Caesar Salad, it does taste great. As with any pasta, the key it to sufficiently salt the water. You wont be sorry you made this. Can't wait for the leftovers, and then to make it again and again.

I was actually quite surprised how good this dish was. It does taste like Caesar salad. I think it could use MORE of the flavors, but it was subtle and very tasty. Next time I make it I'll use more anchovies and worcestershire........I definitely will make it again. I couldn't find escarole, sop I just used romaine lettuce.....it was fine.

My boyfriend & I watched Rachel make this on TV & both of us thought it sounded great. I made it a few weeks later and we were not dissappointed. The pesto for the chicken is scrumptious & the pasta is excellent. Tastes like a briny, flavor packed carbonara. We loved it! Thanks Rachel for another keeper!

Outstanding. I made it for my wife with the Pesto Chicken. We both thought it was delicious. Not at all too salty. Great combination and a ton of flavor. Well done...

I so wanted to love this!! My daughters and I love Caesar salad and spaghetti, so how could I go wrong, right? The sauce had no taste, even after 8 anchovies and the garlic. The sauce thickened up fine, but it was lacking a lot of flavor. The pesto chicken was so-so, I would never make it again.
Sorry Rachel.. usually you hit it out of the park, but this one was 3 strikes and you're out!
(My kids are choking it down as I type this..

Yikes! The anchovies are salty, the Worcestershire is salty, the Parm is salty - just too much. For several years I have made a good green salad dressed with Caesar dressing, and prepared about half portions of pasta, usually thin spaghetti, and tossed it all together - very good if I say so myself. But with the greens and anchovies both cooked in this dish, there's no contrast, no freshness. I like RR, but this is not very good.

I do HATE that word, but I loved this pasta dish. I used 2 large bunches rainbow swiss chard for the greens (could use more if like higher proportion of greens to pasta, extra few garlic cloves, and three large chopped shallots sauteed prior to adding the anchovies . I also used angel hair pasta. Nice as a main dish with a glass of chardonnay..
