I loved this dish and so did my husband. A few variations we made to make it our own was to omit the bacon, add basil and top it with sauce.

I followed the advice of the other posters and added more seasoning, including putting a layer of tomato sauce on top before adding the ricotta. Still, it was rather bland. It wasn't bad - my husband still had seconds (which is why I am giving it 3*, but we won't have it again.

Looked great coming out the pan, but looks ain't everything. Was very dry tasting. I think it needs more cheese mixed into the pasta, 3/4 cup is not enough (maybe 2 cups of a good melting, smooth cheese. 2 cups of ricotta on top is too much and added to the dryness (maybe cut in half. My opinion, but didn't sit well with family.

I followed the recipe and used mozzarella for the topping. This pizza had no taste whatsoever. It was bland and way too much cheese. The textures were weird as well. You have the crunchy, stringy linguine and the soft, mushy ricotta. Will not make this again!

While visiting family in January 08 we decided that we would have this dish for Easter dinner. After reading the recipe and the reviews of others we cut the pasta in half (1 package and kept most everything else the same. We made a separate sauce for dipping or drizzling. We even purchased Rachel's fry pan that she used in the show. The meal was delicious. Thank you Rachel for an easy meal! Thank you past reviewers for your thoughts and input! We will make this dish again and again.

I wouldn't have used as much pasta - it really was dry. Other than that, the flavor was good. I used bacon instead of pancetta, and I used more than suggested (my husband is a meat man and would have complained otherwise. I'll definately make it again, just with 1/2 as much pasta.
