I wanted to try Orzo pasta, so I came to Food Network to help me out. This recipe got a lot of good comments, so I decided to give it a try. I am happy I did. This was a very good dish. I read most of the comments and noticed that alot of people tweaked the recipe. I decided to go along with the person who added mushroom and shrimp. It was a quick dish and with the addition of basil spice and hot pepper flakes was seasoned good. Give it a try and make it your own.

It was a great recipe, but I put in an extra can of chicken broth and have used broccoli and zucchini to rave reviews from the family, but squash and too watery things have not worked out very well. One other thing that worked out nice was putting in extra olive oil and lightly browning the orzo before adding the broth. Great, simple recipe. Highly recommend it. Try it according to the recipe and then play around with it and make it your own.

I don't usually make orzo but was looking for something other than rice to go with a dish I was making. This recipe was the best orzo I've ever had. I have to admit that I don't have a lot of experience with orzo but really loved this. I highly recommend trying it.

As this is my first batch of orzo I thought this sounded tasty and easy. It is! I added some red pepper flake the onions and garlic and then at the very end added some chicken and carrots. ^_^ Thanks Rachel!

I absolute love this recipe!!! Super easy to make. We usually add mushrooms to the onions. Then at the end we throw some seasoned shrimp in there right before the cheese. Easy, inexpensive, and my kids love it!!!

I added fresh sliced mushrooms after I sauteed the onions and garlic, sauteed the mushrooms for a few minutes and then added the chicken broth. All my kids loved it! It is a great side dish with just about any meat, but I grilled pork chops and added a salad and it was just enough.

I made this a long time ago and forgot about it... My husband requested it and we had it tonight. It was really good. The only change I made was cutting the garlic in half. It's a keeper! It's good to make it basic and then you can add many different things later to suite your taste.

Barilla orzo cooked perfectly in 12 minutes on simmer as directed and I used 14 oz chicken broth for 3/4 cup orzo. It was just the right amount to absorb but not get dry. I liked this pretty well, my husband thought it just OK and only ate a little. It lacked something. I read reviews and added a dash of red pepper flakes 1T parsley and a bit more fresh grated good Parmesan but it still needed something else for spark.

I made it exactly as the recipe is, and my family LOVED it - especially my husband, who is the pickiest eater of all. He said "hon, this is awesome."

I loved that it is easy and I usually have the ingredients around the house.

I love orzo, so I decided to make this one because I love cheese, too. It is sooo good! I added several herbs from my garden like basil, parsley, and lemon basil. You can even add a little lemon zest and it gives it a whole other flavor. But you do have to eat this right away, its not very saucy so it will settle in a gluey lump. But other than that its really good!
