If you are looking for a great tasting, tummy warming soup for a crisp Novmeber day while watching football, this soup willl do the trick. Excellent combination of flavors! It is also great served over bowl of steamed white rice! Easy to make and easy to enjoy!!!!

I have been on the lookout for a soup to take to my family's upcoming annual soup party- I found this recipe yesterday and tried it this evening. I made it for myself and my parents, we all thought it was wonderful!
It was a very easy to make... I used Chipotle hot sauce which gave the soup a nice, smoky flavor. I also added a can of corn (drained, of course! because I think it goes well with Mexican-style dishes. I also thought the soup was very hearty- great for an October evening! This is definitely what I will take to the party!

I had to use ground chorizo, as I could not find the kind Rachael used. I also, accidentally, added two cans of roasted tomatoes and it was still very thick and stoup like! I cooked my chicken breast in the oven with just a bit of evoo and then shredded them when they were cooled. My husband fell in love with chorizo while on our honeymoon in Mexico so I keep my eye for recipes that use chorizo. This stoup was a huge hit! I can't wait to make it for the rest of the family.

This is absolutely one of my new favorites! My picky eater gobbles it down. I want some right now, again.

Great Recipe. Used smoked sausage instead of chorizo. Also boiled the chicken and shredded it with my hands instead of using chunks. Came out delicious!!! Wish it was more spicy though

My family loved it. I love how all of the flavors work together with just a hint of spicy. We will definitly eat this again.

One note: This recipes says 4 servings but it would be huge servings for us....more like 6!

I read all the reviews before I made this soup and trust me it lives up to the 5 stars. My boyfriend and co-workers went crazy for it. It almost has a green chile taste to it. It is so hearty and has fantastic flavor. I used more meat than the recipe called for, (and raw chorizo, browned, instead of the sausage styleotherwise I follewed it exactly. Make this recipe, you wont be disappointed!

Holy cow, this is sooo good! My family requests I make it every time we are together. The only thing I do different is that I almost double the recipe to feed more people and also add a can of black beans. I also let it cook for a lot longer just because it gets better and better the longer it cooks. After I bought Rach's cast iron, enamel coated 5 qt pot, I swear the stoup tasted better. Definitely one of my all time favorites! The toppers of chips, scallions, cilantro and cheese are a must.
