I made this for friends, and we all agreed that we didn't care for the breading on the steak. It didn't stick very well. We loved the gravy though! I would make the gvavy again, not the breading on the steak.

I had the same problem as many other reviewer - the breading didn't want to stick, but the flavor was really nice. The green beans were wonderful . . .

This was very tasty and very easy. I used some of the leftover flour, paprika, cornmeal coating and made my gravy with it (instead of plain four and it gave it a real kick!

This was the perfect Sunday dinner. My family loved it and so did I because it was so simple. Thanks again, Rachel!

It was my first time making chicken fired steak, and it was a hit with my whole family. And I have a picky family!

    Thanks Rachel!

This recipe for chicken fried steak is by far the best I have ever eaten!I am a native southerner, and believe me, we know good chicken fried steak when we taste it. The gravy is superior in every way, and really "makes" this meal.My family asked for seconds, and were very impressed.Make this mesl when you crave comfort food. Thanks Rachael!

This was not my favorite recipe of R.R.'s. I would make this again, because I did enjoy the gravy and the breading and flavor of the meal overall, but I will not use round steak. It was so tough we couldn't even swallow the meat, I pounded it good, but still too short of a cooking time for such a tough cut of meat. I find it better for swissing or something. Next time I will try a more tender cut or chicken instead!

I tried this recipe after watching the show and I don't think it's that good. I followed it to a tee but still the breading isn't really thick or crispy and just falls off the meat. The meat did get a good flavor but using round steak means really pounding it for it to be tender. Next time I'm gonna try a different recipe.
