I was a little disappointed by this recipe. My sauce reduced down but wasn't really a sauce, more of a juice. Then again I could have done something wrong! Just a simple weeknight meal, nothing fancy.

Delicious! Everyone absolutely loved this dish. The sause is surprisingly subtle. Be sure to slice the potatoes very thin so they cook well. Used store-bought pomegranate juice - much easier.

I thought the pomegranate juicing the way the recipe said was really cool sounding, but after rolling them around just a bit, the shell cracked itself open and there was absolutely no juice that came out. Eventually I had to take all the seeds out by hand and use a potato masher to get the juice out. What a mess it made! And the juice stains. In the end the recipe was ok, but I wasn't super impressed by it. The concept was ok, and maybe with the ease of bottled juice it would be better, but the flavors were just ok, and I've made many better and easier fancy meals than this one.

This recipe is not hard at all, very easy and super delicious!!!!! The only thing I'd recommend is to chop up everything before you start cooking anything and be care of not to overcook the chicken! The chicken cooks super fast so all you need is a couple min on each side. I made a couple adjustments myself, instead of using bacon, I used Italian sausage so I didn't need to add the red pepper flakes. And instead of using figs, I used cherries. The cherries went REALLY well with the flavors. The one other thing you should be careful of is the potatoes. If you watched how RR cooked it on TV, she had layers of the potatoes in the pan, the potatoes do not get cooked all the way through. So I ended up splitting the potatoes in its pan and used the chicken pan after the chicken was done. But the flavors of this dish is great. My husband actually said it's the favorite thing I've cooked so far~ :D

Lemon juice and cognac! If you look up "French 75" on this site, you'll find the recipe.

Re: your question about the cloves-- the cloves Rachael used in the pomegranate sauce are simply-- cloves. They are a spice in and of themselves. They are easily found in most any supermarket on the spice aisle. Often they will either come ground or whole. Rachael used whole cloves. Hope this helps.
