I wanted to make a nice harty sandwich for my fiancee on a cheap budget. When i saw this recipe i kew it was perfect but alittle expensive and alot of ingredients to remember. I cooked the meatballs exactly how its says in the recipe and they were great. I did the sauce a little different. Instead of adding all the ingredients to make the sauce I just took alittle bit of garlic olive oil and miixed in a pan with 2 cans of diced tomoatoes (seasoned with basil and oregano .. I topped the sandwich with some sauce and alittle cheese and popped it in the broiler. It was perfect. I made t alittle easier without sacraficing taste. I would definetly reccomend this recipe with the original sauce or with my own variation.

This recipe is simple and oh so tasty. My family loved it, including my very picky daughter. My husband said I've got to put this in the rotation. :

I thought this was such an easy recipe to make. Takes no time at all and tastes delicious! We've already made it a few times and continue to keep this in our recipe book!

I'll start with the meatballs. I think I may have overcooked them a little bit in the oven but not enough to ruin the flavor. With that said, I rate the meatballs themselves a 4 out of 5. I can't give them that 5 because inall honesty, they weren't the best things I have tasted in the world, but they were still good. Now, for the sauce. The sauce was pretty flavorless. It was a downer and I don't know what to make it taste better; I added some extra spices but there is a limit to the number of spices you are supposed to add in a dish so there realy isn't anything more I can do for the sauce. On that same note too, I also thought the basil didn't work that well in the sauce. I would rate the sauce a low 1 out of 5. If you make this recipe, you would be better off making a different sauce or use spaghetti sauce. (Side note, the ingredients in this recipe are not exactly cheap, especially the cheese. You will probably also find your permegian-oregiano(spelling, I know in the deli section. the provolone, I found that by the regular cheese in the grocery store and the grocery store didn't have shredded provolone so I just baught the sliced of them and cut them up myself.(Oh, and watch out for the oil when you have the garlic in it, it realy splatter EVERYWHERE, especially on YOU. Also, make sure too not cook the garlic too long or you will need to start over; otherwise your sauce will be ruined for sure.

another great recipe! i'm not a big fan of ground chicken, but these meatballs were really just like chicken parmesan. i added a pinch of pepper flakes to the sauce to give it a little zip and my niece and nephew gobbled the hero's up.

i didnt use the sauce for this recipe i used her sauce in the stuffed shell recipe and it is amazingg i also put crushed garlic in with the meatballs verrryyyy tasty for a chicken meatball if u think of some of the chicken burgers you have tasted before as long as you dont over cook the meat the are moist and good not dry and flavorless.

I made these with the ground chicken. The meat was nice and juicy. The sauce was a little sweet. Not bad. I think I might try it with a spicier sauce. Will definately make the meatballs again.

I love this recipe! It's very versitile; I've tried it with ground chicken and ground turkey and had great results. I've also played with the spices a bit and have not been dissapointed. We've had these as meatballs in subs, over pasta, and have even flattened them into patties, browning on the stovetop for more "traditional" looking chicken parm, and it's always been delicious! A perfect light, quick and easy weeknight meal with a salad.

    YUMMO!

These are really quite tasty and we did use ground chicken but can also be done easily with ground turkey. If your grill seasoning doesn't have enough zest add a pinch of red pepper flakes.

As others have said, decrease the oil from to 2 of even 1.5 tbspoons. Also make sure when you're roasting the garlic to keep an eye on it. I used medium high heat and medium would have been better on my stove.

As you're adding stock to the sauce do so in 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup amounts. The sauce as is, is kind of thin. I did use dried basil instead of fresh; roughly a tablespoon.

I made my own breadcrumbs by using the hollowed out sub rolls and using a mini chopper along with dried italian seasoning. Makes for very fresh taste. Also I have only used turkey and they haven't been bad yet.
