Since there are quite a few reviews saying the lemon in this dish was overpowering, I added the lemon juice gradually. I'd recommend doing that just to make sure the flavoring is to your preference. I ended up using the full amount of lemon juice Rachael called for though! This dish is so simple and tastes outstanding!
I only used one shallot and half a box of penne. I used rotisserie chicken and topped with Parmesan cheese rather than chives. This is another creative pasta dish from Rachael Ray that I'll definitely be making again and again!

I will make it again, but will put a bit less lemon and I also added more broth as not enough liquid. But hubby really enjoyed it.

It was good but not the best piccata recipe...I agree with a lot of the other reviewers, that the lemon was pretty overpowering...I too added a lot more salt to lessen the lemons 'dominance'. I also agree that it may need a bit more sauce...in general it was good but it wasnt as quick a recipe as I thought it would be.

The dish was much too acidic. It had a very simple flavor that was completely dominated by lemon. I tried to temper the lemon by adding more salt, pepper, a touch of sugar, fresh cilantro, and grated parmesean, trying to be careful because the dish could have taken a horrible turn. It turned out okay but I'm glad I wasn't having company.

This dish was very flavorful! I love Giada's piccata recipe and this turned out very similar in taste. The only thing I found wrong with it is the chicken didn't have much flavor. Next time I might dredge the chicken pieces in flour or use a type of salty steak seasoning like Montreal steak to give it a little something extra

Delicious!! I love piccata, and this is quick and very yummy. I had to laugh at some of the reviews where people said it was too lemony or that they didn't like the capers, because those are the two essential ingredients in piccata, right? Anyway, after reading other reviews I decided to cut the amount of pasta in half, and it was way too much sauce for the amount of pasta, unless you boil it down to reduce it by half. I would suggest that if you want it meatier, just add more meat!!

I made this for my family at first, I thought they wont like it due to the lemon flavor. Boy was I wrong my three kids 10,9,8 (two are very picky and my husband loved it. It was an quick and very easy meal to make. My one daughter told me that I have to make this again. A winner in our family!

Excellent! As recommended by other reviews, double the sauce or use half the pasta. Reheats well, a new favorite!
